i need help on biology hw, here is the question a light microscope has an eyepiece that magnifies 10 x and an objective that is marked 43 x. what is the total magnification for these two lenses. my last question is if a microscope eye piece magnifies 4 x and the total magnification is 400 x, how much does the objective lens magnify
You multiply the eyepiece magnification and the lens magnification together to get the total magnification. So the first answer would be 43 * 10, which is 430 total magnification. For the second answer, you would have to divide the total magnification by the eye piece. So this is 400/4, which is 100x for the objective lens. Hope this helps!
